  1. Mar 19,  · A Eurythmics new album was always an object of anticipation. Sadly, anticipation wasn't the term I can use regarding "We Too Are One". After "Savage", this one was the unexpected let-down/5().

  3. By , the Eurythmics had all but lost their momentum in America. "Don't Ask Me Why" only peaked at #40, and they had no further singles come close. Yet, it was not an entire loss. "We Too Are One" had several good songs on it, but the album as a whole lacked something special.4/5(49).

  5. In retrospect, the album can be seen as a dry run for Annie Lennox 's debut solo album, Diva (); songs like "Don't Ask Me Why" (which grazed the U.S. Top 40) serve as precursors to the dramatic ballads to come. There is, however, an air of romantic resignation throughout We Too Are One, appropriate to its valedictory nature.
  6. We Too Are One recalls the best moments of many of their previous albums and several of its songs rank among the Eurythmics' best, including "Don't Ask Me Why," "Angel," and "When The Day Goes Down." To say that this album is passionless, that it fails to ignite the listener, or that it is "treading water" is to miss the point.
  7. " Don't Ask Me Why " is a song recorded by the British pop music duo Eurythmics. It was written by bandmembers Annie Lennox and David A. Stewart and produced by Stewart with Jimmy Iovine. The song was featured on Eurythmics' album We Too Are One.
